This beautiful Cathedral was built in the 11th century by Georgia's mighty King - David the Builder, whose wish was to be burried in the yard of the church. You can see his tomb just right at one of the gateways of the Cathedral Complex. Gelati was one of the first academies in Europe and it had an observatory as well. You can see this beautiful yard and the main church with so many murals and enchanting mosaic at the alter.
