Day 1: Departure for Tbilisi
Day 2: Tbilisi – Kazbegi
We drive along the Georgian Military highway, visit Ananuri complex and arrive in Kazbegi. Walk up to the Gergeti Trinity church. After excursion walk back to Kazbegi.
A drive on the narrow road along the tributary of the rushing Tergi River will take us to the village of Juta (2165m). Here we start our walk and make camp in a beautiful meadow (2550m) at the foot of Mt Chaukhebi. In the afternoon we walk up to the snowy slopes of Mt. Chaukhebi.
400m or 700m, ¯300m, walking time – 3 hours or 5 hours
Day 4: Tetu Peak (3210m)
Today we climb our first peak. Three hours walking through white rhododendron fields and wildflower meadows takes us to the ridge. Another 100 metres and we are on top to enjoy breath-taking views of the Great Caucasus Mountains with Mt. Kazbegi on one side and Mt Chaukhebi on the other. Don’t think you are unlucky if it’s not clear enough. Walking in the mystical world of mountains is sure to impress you even in foggy weather.

Day 5: Abudelauri Lake (2515m)
The “Dolomites” on your right, the “Alps” on your left, and the journey in the Caucasus Mountains is getting more exciting. The walk to Abudelauri Pass (3230m) is steep and even tiring. It will take you another 15 minutes to get to Abudelauri Peak. The altimeter reads 3270m and you see giant mountains all around you. Then we walk down the steep slopes of rockslide and alpine meadows to get to Abudelauri Lake – our camp site. You should look at this crystal turquoise lake at night to see the star-spangled sky reflected on the water.
700m, ¯750m, walking time – 6 hours
Day 6: Abudelauri Lake – Blo – Ukankhadu (2000m)
Sadly, we have to leave beautiful Abudelauri Lake. First we walk through the fallen rocks that are the size of huge houses. Then we walk through two passes and visit Blo – a village inhabited for the last 30 years by only one person. We walk in the land of pre-Christian mystical world and gorgeous nature.
400m, ¯900m, walking time – 7 hours
Day 7: Ukankhadu – Anatori Pass (2800 m) – Guro
We will remember this day for its multifarious landscapes: we travel through alpine meadows and dense forests walk over a mountain ridge from where we can enjoy the view of the whole Khevsureti region. We pass through Guro gorge.
800m, ¯800m, walking time – 7 hours.
Day 8: Guro – Shatili – Mutso
Today we visit the fortified village of Shatili, then continue to Anatori – the ancient burial of the Khevsuri people and afterwards head to the mediaeval fortified village of Mutso. The desire to see these ancient historical places makes it easier for us to cover the long distance, part of which is a ground road open for 4X4WD-s probably only one month during the whole year.
400m, ¯700m, walking time – 8 hours
This day will be a bit hard as we have to walk 8-9 hours. First we walk in narrow canyon along the river and finally arrive at the village of Khakhabo (2000 m).

Day 10: Khakhabo – Tsubrovana Pass – Datvisjvri Pass – Tbilisi
It is the last day for trekking. Today we will walk for about 5 hours and cross two passes before getting to the main road. From there we drive to Tbilisi.
900m, ¯1100m, walking time – 5 hours
Day 11: Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Tbilisi
In the morning we have tour to Mtskheta and later Tbilisi sightseeing tour. Late afternoon free for exploring the town on your own.
