You will travel to Kakheti – a famous wine-growing region.
We visit the fortified town of Signagi (18th century). The town preserved its original image and now offers visitors stunning views of the surrounding Caucasus Mountains. Visit the Ethnographical museum of Signagi and Bodbe monastery (4th century), which holds the tomb of St.Nino, the Cappadocian maiden who converted Georgian people to Christianity as early as 337 AD.
Continue to visit a farmer’s house to see a unique 300-year-old wine cellar. We get acquainted with the Georgian way of wine-making, quite different from the European one, and drink typical Georgian wine straight from the clay jars. For lunch, we will take you to a farmer’s house to enjoy the hospitality of the local people and sample some delicious homemade food and wine. Return to Tbilisi.
